I am extremely honored and privileged to have been elected the Chairman of Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association (SLGJA) and to accept the responsibilities that SLGJA has entitled me to. I am boundlessly grateful to everyone involved with SLGJA for the trust and confidence placed upon me to carry out the role and duties as Chairman of SLGJA for the year 2014-2015. At SLGJA, we work enthusiastically to create an industry that attracts, promotes, and maintains quality businesses. Mr. Chanaka Ellawala and Deshabandu Macky Hasim’s tenure witnessed our Association work hard to strengthen our voice in numerous important aspects, and accordingly we were able to achieve many business needs that were required by our industry.
Our board members and volunteers display a commitment that is unparalleled. Those of us who serve on the Board and Executive Committee represent businesses, large and small, in our industry and we understand how critical it is for members to experience a return on their investment in the Association. We also understand that only together can we accomplish, what none of us can do alone.
Our continued success depends on the active involvement of our membership. I hope you will take advantage of all we have to offer and give us your input and your insight about how we can continue to carry out our mission and serve you better. I would also like to encourage all the non-members to take time to learn more about the opportunities that your membership with the SLGJA can offer the Gem and Jewellery industry.
To embark on a journey of success one needs the tools of preparedness, foresight and strategy. These lead to the path of growth and high quality business. It is imperative to combine these three forces in an industry, where all the hard work and commitment take you towards success. Hence, let us all join hands and work together as a team to earn more recognition and success for SLGJA like previous teams have achieved.
“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success”.
